One or two weeks ago, my class started persuasive writing about if we should ban Scooters at Hornby High or not.
My writing is that we should ban scooters at Hornby High.
Here it is, please comment your feedback!
In my opinion, scooters shouldn’t be available to use at all at morning teas and lunchtimes in Hornby High School. Scooters are dangerous because of the building site, for the people riding them and the people that could be run over. There’s also not enough places to put them when going to different classes.
My first reason is that using scooters is dangerous because the school is also a building site. There are very tight pathways and there are trucks coming and going. Riding scooters in the school would be really dangerous for the building site because we have very tight pathways from the construction walls. Someone could run into one by accident and badly injure themselves. Also, if someone rides on their scooter on the pathway, they could eventually crash into someone trying to walk past.
My second reason is that using scooters are also dangerous because it is dangerous for the children. They might get hit by another child riding their scooter. Other kids would get run over and they would have to deal with some injuries. Also, most kids don’t even wear safety gear when they ride scooters! They would run into something and/or fall and severely injure themselves.
My third reason is that you shouldn’t take scooters to connect classes/Hornby High because there aren’t enough places to put them when you get to different classes. You wouldn’t want to put a scooter right outside a door where everyone can stumble over them, would you? It’ll block doorways and walkways, so then other people cannot get to their classes in time.
Overall, I think that scooters should be banned from Hornby High School because they are critical for the building site, the people and you also wouldn’t know where to put them at different classes. Scooters are a big hazard for people walking to class and back.
