Coraline hated the blandness of her natural family.
Once she discovered the other world, she kept going there because it was somewhat better than her current life.
There was an other mother who loved to play games.
The cat was the one to guide Coraline and was the only one(other than Coraline herself) to not have button eyes in the other world. He was also able to speak there, too.
The other father liked to garden and play piano.
The other mother turned into a skeleton-spider thing and somehow coughed up the key.
She had to rescue three ghost children and save her parents from the other mother.
Coraline had a small doll which was used to spy on her from the other world.
