What does 'Factual' and 'Satirical' mean?
Factual means it's a real website with real facts. On the other hand, satirical means the exact opposite but it's fake in a funny way.
We have to look through 8 news websites, each being:
The Onion, The New York Times, The Civilian, The Daily Mail, The Daily Mash, The Herald, The Shovel and Daily Telegraph.
The Onion:
What does the website look like?
The website looks fairly unorganized as the topics are placed messily on the screen. It looks bunched together with big and small images everywhere.
What photos is it using?
The photos The Onion is using seem photoshopped and look unreal, e.g this one here.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are sharing a few headlines that include swears and things that don't seem like something someone would actually do.
Do you think it is a Factual or a Satirical website?
I think it is satirical.
The New York Times:
What does the website look like?
This site, again, looks bunched together and unorganized. It includes a small weather dial.
What photos is it using?
They are using small amounts of images and they seem fairly small compared to the amount of text is on the page.
What headlines are they sharing?
The headlines they are sharing seem more realistic but don't look as if they are real.
Do you think it is a Factual website or a Satirical website?
I personally think it is a Factual website.
The Civilian:
What does the website look like?
It looks a bit more organized and the images are put off more to the side.
What photos is it using?
The Civilian is using photos that look a bit real, but some seem like they could be photoshopped.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are sharing more negative sounding headlines, some being, 'EMBARRASSING: Winning Melbourne Cup horse just ran around in a circle like some kind of idiot' and also more that include swears.
Do you think it is a Factual website or a Satirical website?
I think it is Satirical.
The Daily Mail
What does the website look like?
It is extremely messy with small images and a lot of text everywhere. It's mixed in big and small letters and looks terrible. It's also covered with ads.
What photos is it using?
They are using low quality images and they are very small as they are displayed on the page.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are sharing negative(ish) headlines and they seem quite fake, as seen below.
Do you think this is a Factual or Satirical website?
I personally think it is Satirical.
The Daily Mash:
What does the website look like?
The website looks terrifyingly messy as there are text and images everywhere. The logo looks like something you'd use on a Captcha.
What photos is it using?
They are using images that look like ones that you would google online and collect to paste to fake sources.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are using very negative headlines which include cuss words and other words you wouldn't see a true news source writing.
Do you think this is a Factual or Satirical website?
I strongly believe this is a satirical website.
NZ Herald:
What does the website look like?
The website looks more organized than the last and appears to be more believable.
What photos is it using?
They are using photos that don't look photoshopped in any way, shape or form.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are using headlines that don't seem false and they are much more positive.
Do you think this is a Factual or Satirical website?
I believe this is a factual website.
The Shovel
What does the website look like?
It, again, looks messy and some text is covering images, small text everywhere, etc.
What photos is it using?
They are using photos that don't seem realistic and some of them are hard to see because they are so small.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are using headlines with very little cusses or negative language.
Do you think this is a Factual or Satirical website?
I think it is a satirical website and it confirmed so due to this popup.
Daily Telegraph:
What does the website look like?
It looks messy, the text is everywhere, images are scattered, though the text itself seems reliable.
What photos is it using?
They are using photos that don't seem photoshopped in any way.
What headlines are they sharing?
They are sharing more realistic headlines, e.g, 'Gaga rocks Grammys, but where was Ariana Grande?'

I believe this website is factual.
Hey Summer it's Chantey the thing i like about about your poster is how you describe what they mean, and what they are and also you have used capital letters in your writing and also putting photo with there maning.
